A bursting protection ring of a turbine engine consists of fibre material which is wound in a plurality of layers and is provided with a highly elastic, heat-resistant matrix. When it is stressed by a fragment of a broken blade, the bursting protection ring can withstand considerably more energy than a stiff bursting protection ring, as a result of the elastic expansion. |
