METHOD FOR PRODUCING D-ALPHA AMINO ACIDS. |
abstract |
Prodn. of D-alpha-amino acids (II) comprises treating a 5-substd.-hydantoin (I) with a culture broth of Hansenula, bacterial bodies or a processed prod. (where R is alkyl, substd. alkyl, phenyl or substd. phenyl.) Examples of the microorganisms belonging to Hansenula are Hansenula ciferrii, Hansenula henricii, Hansenula nonfermentaus and Hansenula polymorpha. The microorganism is cultivated in a culture medium comprising a C source, an N source and an inorganic salt under aerobic condition at 25-45 deg.C within a pH range of 4-9. (I) are contacted with a culture broth of Hansenula, bacterial bodies or a processed prod. in an aq. soln. at 20-50 deg.C (pref. 20-60 deg.C) within a pH range of 5-9 (pref. 6-8.5). |
