abstract A substance is proposed for the poison-free protection of the bark of young woodland plants against feeding damage caused by insects, especially by the large brown pine weevil, the substance being composed of a mixture of open-pored dispersion adhesive and ground minerals. The mixture is applied to all sides of the stem to be protected and, after drying, forms an elastic coating on the bark which adheres and protects for a sufficiently long time.
