titleOfInvention GALVANIC CELL WITH A SOLUBLE ELECTRODE CONTAINING ALKALI OR EARTH ALKALI METALS
abstract An electrochemical cell (2) having an electrode (10) which consists of alkaline metals or alkaline-earth metals, especially lithium, of a cathodic reference electrode (12), of a liquid electrolyte which acts as a depolariser, and of a spacer, is constructed such that it is suitable for a high-power battery. For this purpose, an interspace (13) is provided between the mutually opposite surfaces of the soluble electrode (10) and an impermeable reference electrode (12), and the electrochemical cell (2) is provided with a circulation device which conveys the electrolyte in the circuit through the interspace (13). The circulation device results in the reaction products produced being removed from the effective electrode surfaces. The reference electrode (12) of the electrochemical cells (2) is matched to this cell type. <IMAGE>
