The invention relates to reinforced polyoxymethylene moulding compositions having improved thermostability comprising (A) at least one polyoxymethylene homopolymer and/or copolymer, (B) at least one reinforcing material, preferably glass fibres or textile sheet-like structures made from glass fibres, (C) at least one alkoxymethylmelamine and (D) optionally additives, which contain, in order to improve the heat resistance, reduce the tendency to discoloration and minimise the free formaldehyde content, as (E) additive, at least one alkaline earth metal glycerophosphate and/or magnesium silicate, expediently in an amount of from 0.01 to 2% by weight, based on the weight of components (A) and (B). In order to prepare the reinforced moulding compositions, the formative components are expediently melted together in an extruder at temperatures of from 150 to 260 DEG C. The reinforced poloxymethylene compositions are suitable for the production of mouldings used, for example, in the automotive, electrical appliance and electronics industries. |
