titleOfInvention | MEDICINAL PRODUCTS FOR TREATMENT OF HYPERTENSION |
abstract | Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hypertonia contains selenium and conventional auxilliaries and carriers. The selenium can be present as an inorganic and/or organic cpd. Sodium selenite is the pref. inorganic cpd., while pref. organic cpds. are selenium yeast, selenium contg. algae, selenomethionine and/or selenocysteine. Pref. the daily dose of Se is 50-150 micrograms. USE/ADVANTAGE - The pharmaceutical can be used in the treatment of hypertonia (esp. primary hypertonia), while at the same time conpensating for selenium deficiency, one of the symptoms of hypertonia. Selenium is a trace element essential to humans and protects against various forms of liver necroses. It is a component of glutathione peroxidase, which protects red blood cells from peroxides. |
