abstract |
The invention relates to compositions and methods for controlling fungal pathogens of crop plants by using guanidine derivatives of the general formula <IMAGE> where R1 and R2 are identical or different and denote the H radical, straight-chain or branched alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms which can optionally be substituted by a hydroxyl group or a halogen radical, or denote a carbamide or thiocarbamide radical, a nitrile group or the guanyl spermidine radical. To control the pathogen causing white stem rot in rape, it is preferred to apply guanyl urea in the form of a finely-divided powder in an amount of 1 to 100 kg/ha to the soil at a point in time at which the pathogen has not yet infected the plants. |
