Process for purifying interferon, in which a crude interferon solution is contacted with an adsorbent in order to adsorb the interferon on the adsorbent and subsequently the interferon is eluted with an eluent. Used as adsorbent is a water-insoluble high molecular weight organic matrix which is combined with a ligand directly or via a spacer. The ligand comprises an amino acid containing an aromatic ring, or an amino acid derivative containing an aromatic ring and an amino group or carboxyl group, which is able to be directly combined with the water-insoluble matrix or the spacer. |
