Shadow mask having an iron base alloy consisting of, in % by weight, up to 0.10% C; up to 0.30% Si; up to 0.30% Al; from 0.1 to 1.0% Mn; from 30 to 45% Ni; from 2.0 to 10.0% Cr, the remainder being Fe and inevitable impurities and, where appropriate, from 0.01 to 1.0% Ti, Zr, Mo, Nb, B, V and/or Be. The impurities may include up to 0.020% S, up to 0.0100% O and up to 0.0050% N. The grain size is No. 5.0 or above. Alloy sheets of this type are finish cold rolled with a draft of at least 20%. Immediately prior to finish cold rolling, the grain size is set to No. 7.0 or higher by annealing. Prior to annealing the alloy is cold-rolled with a draft of at least 40%. After finish cold rolling, a heat treatment is carried out at from 300 to 1000 DEG C. The finish-annealed sheet is dressed. Holes are made by etch-perforating. |
