A method for the treatment of human hair with an alkaline hair-treatment composition entails applying onto the skin, in order to prevent or reduce skin irritation caused by the alkaline hair-treatment composition, at the site to be treated, shortly before and/or after the treatment with the alkaline hair-treatment composition, an amount, which suffices to wet the skin, of a hair-treatment composition which contains DL-valine and/or a DL-valine ester or its physiologically tolerated salt. |
