titleOfInvention CONTACT COPIER FOR UV-SENSITIVE MATERIAL
abstract The invention specifies a contact copier for UV-sensitive material, having a support for copying material to be exposed and for an associated original, a copying lamp which is formed by a xenon burner (13) having a reflector (14) made from UV-reflecting material, and a control device which consists of a charging circuit (20, 21), which preferably oscillates at the system frequency, and a controllable discharging circuit (22, 23) for discharging via the xenon burner (13). Discharging of the charging circuit and coupling of an ignition voltage into the discharging circuit are performed in a synchronized fashion. The control, in particular initiation of the exposure operation can be performed under program control. In order to avoid air inclusions, it is expedient to produce an underpressure between the support (2), the original and the copying material, it being possible to perform the evacuation under program control and in stages. The ignition of the xenon burner (13) is expediently performed at the end of the evacuation operation. <IMAGE>
