To expel residual moisture, in particular after pressure tests with water and for providing extremely dry compressed-gas containers for highly pure gas charges, or for facilitating the taking of gas in the case of liquefied gases having a high heat of vaporisation, the compressed gas cylinders must be heated. Special ovens, heating jackets, radiant heaters, hot-air fans and the like are used for this purpose. The types of heating have the common feature that they are involved and hence require a great deal of energy. To reduce the heating time and the energy consumption, the heating is carried out with an inductive heating coil (8b) which surrounds the compressed-gas cylinder (7) over at least part of its length. The coil body of the inductive heating coil consists in this case of non-magnetic material. |
