titleOfInvention DEVICE FOR INTRAOPERATIVE CONTROL OF A VAGOTOMY OPERATION
abstract The invention relates to a device (1) for intraoperative monitoring of vagotomy as regards the degree of denervation of the stomach. In order to give the surgeon a quick survey of the degree of denervation of the stomach there is proposed a stomach tube (2) having an elastic balloon (5) which is pre-shaped to match the inner contour of the stomach (12) and on the surface of which electrodes (10) for measurement of the pH value are arranged in the manner of a matrix. The inflated balloon (5) comes to bear against the gastric mucosa together with the electrodes (10). The pH values recorded by the electrodes (10) are processed in a data outputting device (3). The pH values which indicate the degree of denervation of the stomach are preferably displayed on a display unit (15) after appropriate transformation. <IMAGE>
