abstract |
The invention relates to a metering device for insulin syringes. For this purpose, there is provided a calibrated spacer which can be inserted between the web of the piston handle and the web of the syringe handle of the insulin syringe. After drawing-up of the syringe the spacer is inserted between the web of the piston handle and the web of the syringe handle and the piston is advanced until the ends of the spacer rest against the web of the piston handle and the web of the syringe handle. The syringe now contains the prescribed dose. The spacer is removed and the injection is given. For ease of handling the spacer has a U-shaped body which can be pushed onto the piston rod. In order to adjust the correct length it can comprise two parts which can be displaced and fixed relative to one another or it can be assembled from a plurality of parts using a clamping or plug-in connection. |
