| abstract | A sterilisable fermenter for culturing microorganisms or cell or tissue cultures is described. The fermenter has a cylindrical reaction chamber which is formed by a tubular film clamped between two endplates. The endplates (3, 4) consist according to the invention of a circular lid (11) and a covering plate (12). The tubular film (1) is drawn over the circular lid (11) whose largest external diameter is somewhat larger than the internal diameter of the tubular film (1).
