titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING ETCHING EFFECTS ON TEXTILE FABRICS
abstract Dyeings and prints produced on textile material comprising vegetable or animal fibres using reactive dyes of the vinylsulphone type, which have then been partially treated with a mechanical resist of resins and/or waxes according to the methods of batik technology or in waxing machine printing, can be destroyed by the action of reducing substances such as sodium hydrosulphite in the cold, so that discharge patterns form corresponding to the break zones in the resist layer. Polychromatic effects can additionally be produced on the so-discharged sites of the foregoing coloration by diazotisation and coupling with naphtholates.
