abstract A non-toxic, powdered pesticide which can be used in particular against garden or domestic ants, is obtained by preparation of a powdery mixture of a raising agent (mixture component A) with a sugar (mixture component B). Sodium bicarbonate and/or potassium carbonate and/or ammonium carbonate are particularly suitable for the mixture component A, and sucrose or dextrose is preferably used for the mixture component B. A preferred mixing ratio A:B lies within the limits 0.25, given in percentages by weight. The organic acids or their salts and the parting agents against premature reaction, which are normally contained in ready-to-sell raising agents, can be omitted from the mixture component A.
