titleOfInvention METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING OZONE
abstract The bleaching and oxidising agent ozone is produced in Siemens ozone generators. The efficiencies of conventional ozone generators are low, since the temperature of the gas to be ozonised is too high in the discharge gap. The present process according to the invention uses a heat exchanger for additional cooling of the reaction gas in the discharge gap by convective heat transport. The gas to be ozonised flows through a discharge gap, which is short in the direction of gas flow, at high gas flow velocities and is subsequently cooled in a heat exchanger. To generate sufficiently high, industrially useful ozone concentrations, the gas flows several times in circulation through the discharge gap. For this purpose, it is driven by a fan. Using the process according to the invention, large quantities of ozone relative to m<2> of electrode area can be produced per unit time at high efficiencies.
