titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING HOMO AND MIXED POLYMERISATES FROM VINYLMETHYLPHOSPHINIC ACID IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION
abstract Copolymers of vinylmethylphosphinic acid and vinylphosphonic acid and/or (meth)acrylic acid and a process for the preparation of homopolymers and copolymers of vinylmethylphosphinic acid with the aid of tree radical-forming catalysts, in which vinylmethylphosphinic acid is heated to temperatures of from 40 to 120 DEG C with 0-95% by weight of vinylphosphonic acid and/or 0-95% by weight of (meth)acrylic acid in water in the presence of from 1 to 5.5% by weight of aliphatic peroxide esters and/or diacyl peroxides which decompose by half in one hour at temperatures below 122 DEG C, where, in the case of the copolymerisation of (meth)acrylic acid, the entire amount of vinylmethylphosphinic acid and vinylphosphonic acid is initially introduced together with up to 30% by weight, based on the total amount of monomers, of (meth)acrylic acid, and the remainder of the (meth)acrylic acid is added over the course of the reaction. The resultant polymers are suitable for improving offset printing plates and as detergent additives (builders).
