titleOfInvention SPECIAL STORAGE AND CONNECTION STRUCTURES FOR A METHOD FOR COMPUTER CONTROLLED ELECTRONIC MUSIC GENERATION
abstract Improvement of a method for electronic music generation - by means of analog-function music keys, - with digital sound generation in a music signal generating mechanism, - many different waveforms for different pitches and tones being stored in a common, continuously addressed memory which is simultaneously the working memory of a mini-computer, and - each instantaneous sound signal value being formed through multiplication of a sound-signal-specific volume value by a waveform value, and - by means of the mini-computer working in real time, which couples the analog-function music keys with the music signal generating mechanism via its program. The improvement lies in the fact - that, to relieve the load of the working memory, - an instruction memory, also referred to as a program memory, and - an optional additional high-speed memory for data are provided, - that these and all further system components are connected by data bus lines, also referred to as buses, in such a way that these system components and, in particular, - the music signal generating mechanism and - the processor of the mini-computer which are advantageously to be implemented as highly integrated LSI components require only a minimum number of connections, and - that a plurality of music signal generating mechanisms can be provided, each one interacting with a specific component of the working memory. p
