The tool holder is used to hold tools, e.g. grinding wheels for grinding bores. The tool holder is composed of an inner part (6) and two sleeves (7, 8), the sleeves (7, 8) being pressed onto the inner part (6). On the free end of the inner part (6), a grinding wheel is pushed on and clamped, via a shim (4), by means of a cap screw (5) screwed into the part (6). At the same time, the two sleeves (7, 8) are pressed into an indent (9) at the opposite end of the part (6). The tool holder composed in this way has an essentially higher damping action than a tool holder which is made of a solid material. When a material having a high modulus of elasticity is used, the rigidity of the tool holder is also increased. <IMAGE> |
