A drum-type dryer (10) has a drum (12) mounted in a housing (11) by means of a bearing axle (17). Guided through this bearing axle (17) is a mixing tube (42) to which steam is fed via a gas-supply line (26) and water via a suction connection (23). Introduced water is atomised in the Venturi tube as a result of the effect of the steam issuing through a nozzle, with the result that a steam/water mist having extremely fine droplets is formed. This mixture is sprayed as a mist cloud (37) into the interior of the drum. By means of the appliance, a textile material can be moistened and subsequently dried in any ratio. <IMAGE> |
