titleOfInvention BACKPACK FILTER
abstract A known backwash filter is further developed for the absorption of oil from an oil/water mixture (untreated water) to the extent that the filter candles are formed by filter cylinders 16 which are closed at the periphery and filled with oil-absorbing material, that, in addition, to backwash the oil-absorbing material, a washing circulation flowing through the filter cylinders 16 is present, which washing circulation is formed by backwash slides 30, 31 connectable to both ports of the filter cylinders 16, and that, finally, wash lines 41, 42 of a washing device 45 are connected to the backwash slides 30, 31. As a result, a pulsed cleaning of the oil-absorbing material located in the filter cylinders 16 with alternating flow impingement by a wash medium (surfactant/water mixture) on the one hand and heated water on the other hand is made possible. The oil-absorbing material proposed is, in particular, granular polyurethane of precisely defined grain size. <IMAGE>
