Device to be worn on the wrist and designed in the manner of a wristwatch, comprising a housing (2) and a wrist strap (3) and at least one ultrasonic probe (1) consisting of at least one ultrasound emitter and an ultrasound receiver, fitted on the wrist strap (3) and to be directed to the radial artery, in conjunction with an electronic evaluation device, arranged in the housing (2), for recording and displaying (24) circulatory parameters, especially the pulse rate, which can be derived from the systolic signals provided by the probe (1) due to the ultrasonic Doppler effect. The probe (1) is designed and fitted on the wrist strap (3) in such a way that the systolic signals can be optimised on application of the device and that this state is maintained independently of the movements of the hand and arm. Interference signals which cannot yet be eliminated by this means are hindered by the correspondingly designed evaluation device from having any effect on the display (24) of the device. A further development permits recording and display of the systolic blood pressure and of the myocardial oxygen demand. <IMAGE> |
