titleOfInvention | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING GASES AND STEAMS |
abstract | A process for treating gases and vapours and a plant therefor are to enable treatment of combustion gases from waste oil incineration and heavy oil combustion with the lowest possible production of waste water. For this purpose it is proposed that the flow medium in the form of combustion gas coming from a waste oil incineration or heavy oil combustion or the like is directed through a flow path having changing cross-section and is therein deflected in a meandering fashion, the flow medium passing through spray mist composed of scrubbing water kept in the pH range of about 6 to 7 and the reactant Ca(OH)2 is used. In this case, the flow medium is to be cooled prior to the absorption process by evaporation and heat exchange to at most 150 DEG C. In this plant a multiplicity of absorption chambers are provided next to each other in a housing. Furthermore, upstream of the first absorption chamber is connected an evaporator through which the flow medium passes and, preferably, a hydrogenation device which is a hydrogenation coil, the solids intake of which is assigned to the outlet end of the evaporator and the solids outlet of which is adjacent to the inlet for the flow medium. <IMAGE> |
