To produce windscreens having an upper and, optionally, an additional lower filter band (9, 10), a glass pane (1) having a size which is a multiple of the windscreen size is provided with a plurality of filter layers (2, 3, 4, 5, 6), which are continuous in the longitudinal direction, in a through-type sputtering plant. The glass pane (1) coated in strips in this way is divided up into a plurality of single glass panes (8) in such a way that parts of the strip-type filter layers (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) each form the band filters (9, 10) on the single glass panes (8).
