titleOfInvention | REACTIVE MONOAZO CONNECTIONS |
abstract | Novel monoazo compounds correspond in form to the free acid of the formula I <IMAGE> in which D is defined as in claim 1 as a radical of a benzene or naphthalene diazo component and Y denotes <IMAGE> or <IMAGE> or the radical <IMAGE> with R5 as an optionally substituted lower alkyl and R6 as halogen, lower alkyl or alkoxy. They are prepared by coupling and condensation reactions in any desired sequence in a conventional manner. The compounds are used as reactive dyes for the dyeing or printing of organic substrates containing hydroxyl groups or nitrogen. They are preferably employed in the exhaust dyeing process, their insensitivity to electrolytes being used to very advantageous effect. |
