The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R denotes C1-C5-alkyl, which is characterised in that a compound of the formula <IMAGE> is brominated in a two-phase system of water and a water-immiscible fluoroalkane with simultaneous exposure to light. The compounds according to the invention are intermediates for the preparation of pharmacologically active oxothienobenzoxepineacetic acid derivatives. |
