abstract The invention relates to desensitised pharmaceutical formulations of biologically or pharmacologically active explosive nitric acid esters, which at the same active substance content either belong to a lower hazard class or for the same hazard class permit higher concentrations, are easier to handle and simpler to process to pharmaceutical dosage forms than are the formulations according to the state of the art. High-percentage formulations which cannot undergo demixing are obtained by embedding nitrate particles in a matrix of a densitising pharmaceutical auxiliary. Pharmaceutical formulations of this type are produced by mixing the solid ingredients with an aqueous medium, and shaping the moist composition to granule particles or pellets and drying.
