A process for the manufacture of coated paper is characterised in that, within a very short time after the application of an excess quantity of a coating slip to a raw paper, the excess coating slip is scraped off by means of a blade-coater device of the rod type or non-rod type, the coating slip having a relatively high solids concentration and containing, as pigments, kaolin and ground natural calcium carbonate having a specified particle size distribution. |
