titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TRANSITION METAL CONTAINING CATALYST COMPONENT FOR ZIEGLER CATALYST SYSTEMS
abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a transition metal-containing catalyst component (1) for Ziegler catalyst systems, in which (1.1) first (1.1.1) a finely divided, porous, inorganic, oxidic substance (I) as support material and (1.1.2) a solution (II) as obtained on combining (IIa) an alcohol and (IIb) a transition-metal composition, are brought into contact with one another to form a suspension (III), this suspension is evaporated to dryness, forming a solid-phase intermediate (IV), and (1.2) then (1.2.1) the solid-phase intermediate (IV) obtained from step (1.1) and (1.2.2) an organoaluminium compound (V) dissolved in an organic solvent are brought into contact with one another to form a suspension, the solid-phase product (VI) resulting as the suspended material being the transition-metal catalyst component (1), characterised in that the transition-metal composition (IIb) employed in step (1.1) is composed in a certain way of (IIb1) a vanadium trihalide, (IIb2) a titanium halide and (IIb3) a zirconium tetrahalide.
