abstract A device for stacking ceramic slabs, especially roof tiles, is described, in which half of the roof tiles fed on a transport path are placed on top of the other half by a shifting device. The transport path preferably comprises two conveyor belts which are parallel in the direction of transport and on which the roof tiles are advanced in series at a distance from one another. The shifting device is arranged so as to be raisable and lowerable between the conveyor belts and has a swivel arm with a gripper for the roof tiles which can be moved between the conveyor paths and which deposits one of the roof tiles on the adjacent roof tile in front of or behind it in a combined raising and swivelling movement.
