The invention relates to a method for the production of a pharmaceutical composition capable of nasal administration, which comprises mixing a pharmacologically active agent which is suitable for suppressing ciliary body function, preferably dihydroergotamine, which is in the form of a mesylate for example, with an agent which is suitable for increasing ciliary function, preferably a xanthine, such as caffeine, and thereby obtaining a nasally tolerated composition, for example in the form of a liquid or powder, to which further isotonicising agents, such as glucose, are also added where appropriate, producing, if required, unit doses which are suitable for use in a spray apparatus suitable for nasal administration. |
