abstract |
The invention relates to a sensor for determining the level of liquid gases. The electrical signal indicating the level of the liquid is generated by means of a temperature-dependent resistor. The object on which the invention is based is to create a sensor of the aforementioned type with which a clear determination of the level of the liquid gas is possible. The sensor is characterized by the fact that, in addition to the temperature-dependent resistor indicating the height, it has a further electrical resistor to which an electrical voltage is applied. As a result, the sensor is heated more strongly when it is outside the liquid than when it is immersed in the liquid. This leads to a noticeable change in signal when immersed in the liquid or when the sensor emerges from the liquid. In the case of a sensor system of the type shown in the drawing (FIG. 3), the level of the liquid oscillates between the positions of the two central sensors "full" and "refill". The other two sensors are used to display alarms in the event of an overflow and when the container is empty. |
