abstract Process for the preparation of 4-fluoro-3-nitrobenzenesulphonic acid by sulphonation and nitration of fluorobenzene, characterised in that 1 mol of fluorobenzene is sulphonated with 2.5-4 mol of sulphuric acid and 0-0.5 mol of sulphur trioxide at temperatures of about 70-110 DEG C, followed by nitration using 1-1.2 mol of nitric acid.
