abstract | A process is described according to which potassium magnesium phosphate is obtained by reacting basic magnesium compounds with phosphoric acid or phosphates in the presence of potassium sulfate from a mother liquor which contains up to 150 g of magnesium sulfate and up to 120 g of potassium sulfate per 1000 g of water and from which with an in With respect to magnesium sulfate, an equimolar amount of calcium oxide or hydroxide sulfate is precipitated and, after setting a pH value of 2 to 4, is mechanically separated using phosphoric acid, whereupon the required amount of potassium sulfate and basic magnesium compound is added to the remaining filtrate and the potassium magnesium phosphate is precipitated therefrom. |
