titleOfInvention | Process for the separation of carbon monoxide from a gas mixture |
abstract | Process for separating carbon monoxide from a gas mixture which contains carbon monoxide and up to about 40,000 ppm water, by bringing the gas mixture into contact with an absorption solution which contains a) at least one copper (I) halide, b) at least one aluminum (III) halide and c ) contains at least one compound with at least two benzene rings in the molecule. Component c) is selected from a group consisting of A) compounds of the general formula (formula) wherein R ↓ 1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group, R ↓ 2 and R ↓ 3 are independently hydrogen, an alkyl group or an aryl group, i the Number 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 and m and n are independently the number 0, 1, 2 or 3, B) oligomers of styrene or derivatives thereof, C) polymers of i) styrene or derivatives thereof and ii) ethylene or derivatives thereof. The absorption solution optionally contains an aromatic solvent without impairing its carbon monoxide absorption and release capacity. eils (2) or at the lower end of the hood (4). The hood (4) can |
