titleOfInvention Method and device for performing pyrometallurgical processes
abstract The invention proposes a method for carrying out pyrometallurgical processes, in particular for reaction melting of fine-grained solids and / or for post-treatment of melts, in which an exothermically reacting solid / gas mixture is conveyed as a heterogeneous flow through a nozzle and blown onto the melt in a jet suggest that the jet is ignited as soon as it emerges from the nozzle, and that by setting high particle flow densities in the nozzle, a sharply focused particle beam with high heat flow density, temperature and radiation force is generated, with which the melt is intensively moved and heated. The particle flow density at the narrowest point of the nozzle is at least 100 kg m ↑ - ↑ 2 s ↑ - ↑ 1. The heat flux density based on the cross section of the beam at the hottest point, depending on the reaction components, is of the order of 0.1 GJ m ↑ - ↑ 2 s ↑ - ↑ 1. The process is suitable both for reaction melting of sulphidic non-ferrous metal concentrates and for reducing and / or depletion of non-ferrous metal-containing slags and for reducing metal melts.
