abstract | The invention relates to a process for the full-area bonding of bituminous roof sheeting by means of a low-temperature adhesive comprising a commercially available, permanently flexible low-temperature adhesive composition having a viscosity of from 100 to 300 Pa.s, a final adhesion after 10 weeks of at least 30 N/5 cm and an initial adhesion to moist concrete of at least 1 N/5 cm, and a readily volatile solvent of which 80% by weight boils in the range from 30 to 70 DEG C and which has an evaporation number of from 1 to 2.5 and forms an azeotrope with water. The low-temperature adhesive composition is adjusted to a viscosity of from 100 to 900 mPa.s using the solvent and applied to the substrate or the roof sheeting in a layer from 0.5 to 3 mm in thickness. Bonding takes place within 10 minutes. The adhesive exhibits adequate initial adhesion (peel strength after 1 hour) even to moist substrates. Any bubbles which appear after laying disappear completely after a short time. |
