abstract An image processing system for use in image recording comprising: data processing means for processing input image data and for outputting processed image data to be used for image recording; manually operable means for entering image processing data defining a method of processing image data for image recording; storage means adapted to store the entered image processing data of a plurality of different said methods of image data processing; instruction means operable to provide instructions indicative of the method by which image input data is to be processed; and control means operable to read-out from said storage means the image processing data for a said image processing method identified by instructions from said instruction means, and to cause said data processing means to perform said identified processing method on said input image data in accordance with the image processing data read-out from said storage means
