Liquid crystalline halobenzene derivatives and liquid crystal compositions containing these compounds |
abstract |
Liquid crystal compounds having a low viscosity and nevertheless a higher transparency point and a broader nematic temperature range are described, as well as liquid crystal compositions which contain these substances. These are liquid crystal halobenzene derivatives of the general formula: (Formula I) in which R stands for an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, (Formula II) and X and Y each have the meanings H, F or Cl, where at least one of the groups X and Y has the meaning F or Cl. |
