The invention relates to an organosilicon polymer whose main chain structure is principally composed of the structural units (A), (B), (C), (D), (E) and (F) below: <IMAGE> in which R is CH3 or H, where the structural units form linear, branched and cyclic structures and the main chain structure additionally contains a polysilane structure of the formula <IMAGE> . This organosilicon polymer can be prepared by adding from 0.5 to 10% by weight, based on the weight of the polysilane, of at least one anhydrous metal halide to a polysilane of the following structure: <IMAGE> and heating the resultant mixture in an atmosphere which is inert towards the reaction. |
