abstract In a plastic which is coated with a metallic film applied by vapour deposition and which consists of a primary coating, a gold-coloured film applied by vapour deposition and a final coating, which are formed in this order from below on the surface of a plastic substrate, the gold-coloured film applied by vapour deposition is produced from a Cu-Al-Sn alloy or a Cu-Zn-Sn alloy which consist mainly of Cu. The plastic coated with the gold-coloured film applied by vapour deposition can be used for fittings or decorations in automobiles, for household articles and the fittings of living rooms and for achieving decorative effects or for producing decorative elements.
