abstract |
A fuel rod for a nuclear reactor has a fuel cladding (1) which is made of a zirconium-base alloy and to whose internal surface a layer (2) of zirconium is applied which contains 0.1-3% by weight molybdenum and/or 0.03-1% by weight carbon and/or 0.03-1% by weight phosphorus and/or 0.03-1% by weight silicon, the total content of the other substances contained in the zirconium being less than 0.5% by weight. The nuclear fuel (3) of the fuel rod is preferably composed of uranium dioxide. <IMAGE> |
