abstract In the case of a fluorescent lamp (1) which emits radiation in the UVA band, the fluorescent coating (3) consists of a first fluorescent material which emits radiation in the UVA band, and an added fluorescent material which emits radiation in the orange-red band, but which does not significantly reduce the UVA radiation emitted by the first fluorescent material by absorption. This can partially absorb blue-light radiation and/or likewise emit UVA radiation. <IMAGE>
