abstract | A housing (1, 2, 5) for accommodating switching elements (12, 13) is provided with a valve (8) for filling the interior of the housing with a gaseous medium, for example nitrogen, which is intended, as far as possible, to prevent the formation of condensation. A holding device (41, 42, 45), by means of which the height of the housing (1, 2, 5) can be varied, for example in a shaft, is used to provide a convenient filling process. A manometer (36) which can be read from the exterior and is accommodated inside the housing is used for observing the housing internal pressure.
