titleOfInvention HERMETICALLY SEALED HOUSING
abstract A housing (1, 2, 5) for accommodating switching elements (12, 13) is provided with a valve (8) for filling the interior of the housing with a gaseous medium, for example nitrogen, which is intended, as far as possible, to prevent the formation of condensation. A holding device (41, 42, 45), by means of which the height of the housing (1, 2, 5) can be varied, for example in a shaft, is used to provide a convenient filling process. A manometer (36) which can be read from the exterior and is accommodated inside the housing is used for observing the housing internal pressure. Instead of nitrogen, any other gas which suppresses the formation of condensation can also be used as the filling gas. The space inside the housing can also be provided with a vacuum. <IMAGE>
