abstract | The use of polyisocyanates as binders in the production of press or chipboard has the disadvantage that the press or chipboard tend to stick to the boards used in their production. These difficulties can largely be avoided if, together with the polyisocyanates used as binders, minor amounts of at least one phosphate or thiophosphate of the formula: (Formula 1) in which: R is an alkyl radical (C ↓ 3 or higher), alkenyl radical (C ↓ 3 or higher, aryl radical, alkyl-substituted aryl radical, a radical of the formula (formula 2) with R ↓ 2 = an alkyl radical, aryl radical or alkyl-substituted aryl radical, A and B = H or a methyl, chloromethyl or 2,2,2-trichloromethyl radical and m = 1 to 25, or a short-chain alkyl radical, which consists of 1 or 2 acyloxy radical (s) whose acyl part (s) consists of the radical of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid with at least 2 carbon atoms; R ↓ 1 Cl, Br, a short-chain alkoxy radical, a short-chain alkyl mercapto radical, an arylamino radical, a mono- (lower alkyl) amino radical, a di (lower alkyl) amino radical, a hydroxy (lower alkylene) oxy radical, an aryloxy radical, a hydrocarbyl ureido rest or an enol radical; X = O or S and n = 1 or 2 are used.
