titleOfInvention | HOMOLOGICAL ORGANIC WOUNDCOVERING MATERIAL FROM HUMAN BLOOD AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF |
abstract | The invention relates to a homologous biological wound-covering material derived from human blood for the temporary covering of wound surfaces, expediently as substitute for missing areas of skin, in particular for the management of extensive burn injuries, which material contains in concentrated form stroma from which free haemoglobin has been removed, subcellular elements and precipitated proteins from human red blood corpuscles. The invention also relates to a process for the production of the wound-covering material according to the invention, in which plasma is removed in a manner known per se from stabilised human blood, and the resulting concentrate of red blood corpuscles is haemolysed with distilled water adjusted to a pH of 3.7 to 5.3, in particular 4.0 to 5.0, in a ratio by volume of the former to the latter not exceeding 1:10, and is concentrated and then converted into a form suitable for storage. |
