abstract The invention relates to a hydraulically actuated, e.g. electromagnetically piloted, press safety valve with two valve pistons arranged in opposite directions on an axis, which control the supply of a pressure medium from a pump connection to a working connection. In the event of a faulty switching, the two valve pistons block the connection from the pump connection to the working connection and they open a connection from the working connection to a tank connection. In this incorrect switching position, the two valve pistons are hydraulically locked and can no longer be actuated by switching on or switching over the pilot valves. The incorrect switching position can only be eliminated by removing the pressure at the pump connection.
