titleOfInvention | WHITE WRITING LIQUID |
abstract | White writing ink comprises an organic solvent (I), opt. film formers and fillers and as the whitening agent, a resin dispersed in a different organic solvent to (I) and/or (I) soluble opt. chlorinated benzoic acid and/or a (I) soluble organometallic cpd. which forms a hydrolysis prod. after evapn. of (I). The white pigment is pref. a polyethylene dispersion in isopropanol or a PTFE dispersion in xylene and (I) is ethyl glycol, isopropanol, butanol and/or an acetic acid ester. Alternatively, the pigment is 2-chlorobenzoic acid or tetra- isopropyltitanate, thanium (IV) chloride and/or aluminium triethylate and as (I), ethyl-, butyl-, propyl acetate, ethylene glycol monoethyl ester, toluene, isopropanol and/or butanol. The compsn. pref. contains a (I) swellable resin esp. PVC or a colloidal urea-HCHO polymer. The ink produces matt white marking on (non)-transparent substrates and can be used in writing implements with capillary structures. |
